The Adventure Handbook in the scratch for the traveler's itch. It's a collective of global photographers and storytellers who are trying to redefine the way travel documentation currently exists. As the new website goes live today, we caught up with Art Director and Junk favorite, Ryan Kenny to chat about all things adventure.

What is The Adventure Handbook and how did it come about?  Well, like a lot of ideas this was born around a dart board and a few jars. One person makes a statement like 'all travel and adventure writing is bullshit' and then another goes 'let's change that'. Then a week later you remember saying it and decide if it's worth doing or not. We're a bunch of people who like stories. Whether it's down the street to get a bottle of milk or conquering Everest.

What does that word "adventure" mean to you? Adventure is life. And I don't mean that in the 'footy is life mate' way. I mean that everything is an adventure.

Your favorite adventure so far? I was seventeen, my black sheep uncle took me for a night out after my dad got remarried. It was wild.

Tell us about the highest and lowest point of your last adventure? Outback Australia. The high and low point of the trip was the same; how fucking tough it was. Six people from different places around the world trying to get along and stay alive for a month.

Dream adventure? I want to go to Northern New Zealand; No snakes, no spiders, no dingoes. It'd be a bloody pleasure.

What constitutes a quality image? The intention, purpose, and person behind the camera. Personality makes a good photo more than anything else.

Camera of choice? Right now a Pentax Espio point and shoot. Simple and solid as a rock.

What can we expect to see on the new website? Our food section 'Cooking with Rough', and interview section where I get weird with people, people's weird and hidden talents, and stories from people all over the world.

If you could take only 3 things on an adventure what would they be and why? A camera, incase I get eaten by a bear or something. Baked beans, I could eat that shit everyday. Someone who knows what they're doing because I don't know what I'm doing.

Who's apart of The Adventure Handbook? Everyone from Adam to Sally and you, if you're down.
